About
Birdie Veilleux is a Quebec-based multi-instrumentalist, session violinist, singer-songwriter, and film composer. A grant recipient of the CALQ and a Lieutenant-Governor's bronze medalist, he now works primarily alongside Bosko Baker as a co-producer, touring musician and project developer.
His career as an accompanist has led him to collaborate with artists such as Pomme and Catherine Dorion, and to open for acts including The Devil Makes Three, Les Trois Accords and Québec Redneck Bluegrass Project. He's played everywhere from the UK to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Argentina, and the US.
“The music is gentle, acoustic, and pleasant.”
- Sylvain Cormier, Le Devoir
“Set to a rollicking, fingerpicked guitar, harmonized vocals, and a carousing violin, the performance exudes a festive energy that had me bouncing my head side to side.”
- The Sleeping Shaman
“Filled with high energy and eclectic expressions”
- Flying Fiddlesticks
“Birdie and his musicians offered us not just a performance, but a poetic and human experience”
